Why this line exists

Daily publishing needs a place to sit down, dry out, charge everything and push the day's files. Most nights are in the van; the budgeted indoor nights are the weather holds, the data offloads and the resets after a hard highland leg. This is the cheapest line that protects every other one.

When it is spent: Spent continuously through the field season, weighted toward the highland legs.

What it produces

  • A daily dispatch published from the field rather than months later
  • Fewer weather-forced cancellations, because holds are survivable
  • Files offloaded and backed up before the team moves to the next region

Itemised costs

Published at estimate stage and reconciled against real invoices once spent. Nothing here is a rounded marketing number.

What a sponsor receives

  • Named in the field-operations credits of the record
  • Named in the daily dispatch series this line keeps running
  • Logo and link on the contributors page and the funding line page

Sponsorship never buys an entry, a placement, a rating or a safety finding. Every credit is disclosed in the book, the archive and on the contributors page.

If this line is only partly funded

Underfunding this line shortens the season. Field days get cut from the end of the route, which means the last regions lose coverage.

Support in kind instead of cash

  • ·Guesthouse or hotel nights along the route
  • ·Campsite passes or hut memberships
  • ·Food, provisioning or regional resupply support

Questions sponsors ask

Answered the same way we answer them by email.

Why pay for hotels at all with a camper?

Storm days and data offloads need power, warmth and connectivity. Roughly one night in five is indoors.

Is any of this holiday travel?

No. Nothing outside the documented route and field programme is funded from the project.
